It Portfolio-Operations Manager

Brown & Brown is seeking an IT Portfolio-Operations Manager to join our growing team in Daytona, FL! The IT Portfolio Manager is responsible for the centralized management of one or more portfolios of IT projects and programs. The role involves aligning IT initiatives with business strategies, optimizing resource allocation, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects within scope, budget, and timeline constraints. This role requires a strategic mindset, a keen understanding of project management principles, and a collaborative approach to work closely with various stakeholders across the organization. The IT Portfolio Manager serves as a key liaison between the IT department and other business units, facilitating communication and ensuring that IT investments deliver maximum value. How You Will Contribute: Manages day-to-day IT project portfolio Tracks and reports on supply and demand management Oversees specific IT projects and ensures they align with business objectives, timeline, and budget Tracks and reports on technology resource availability and makes recommendations on resource and project alignments Tracks performance and mitigates risks for individual projects Communicates with stakeholders about project portfolio and project statuses Develops and manages a plan for continuous improvement and operational efficiency Supports the annual budget process and tracks and reports on budgets and allocations Develops reports and presentations for all functions and for senior leadership Oversees the entire portfolio of IT projects and programs Aligns IT initiatives with business strategies and objectives Coordinates and manages resource allocation for IT projects Ensures projects are completed within scope, budget, and timeline constraints Facilitates communication between IT and other business units Monitors and reports on the performance and progress of IT projects Identifies and mitigates risks associated with IT initiatives Develops and implements portfolio management processes and best practices Conducts regular portfolio reviews and status meetings with stakeholders Manages and prioritizes the project pipeline based on strategic importance Ensures compliance with regulatory and organizational standards Provides leadership and guidance to project managers and teams Evaluates the effectiveness of project delivery and outcomes Supports the continuous improvement of portfolio management practices Performs other duties as assigned Licenses and Certifications: Six Sigma Black belt certification Professional certifications such as PMP, PgMP, or PfMP Skills & Experience to Be Successful: MBA, Advanced degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field (preferred) Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field 5+ years of experience in IT project or portfolio management Finance background (preferred) Experience with portfolio management tools and software Strong understanding of IT infrastructure and architecture Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Proven track record of successfully delivering IT projects Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Leadership experience in a technology-driven environment Experience in strategic planning and business analysis Solid understanding of project management methodologies and frameworks Proficiency in portfolio management tools and software Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Excellent communication and collaboration skills Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities Experience in risk management and mitigation Knowledge of financial management and budget planning Teammate Benefits & Total Well-Being We go beyond standard benefits, focusing on the total well-being of our teammates, including: Health Benefits: Medical/Rx, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Disability Insurance Financial Benefits: ESPP; 401k; Student Loan Assistance; Tuition Reimbursement Mental Health & Wellness: Free Mental Health & Enhanced Advocacy Services Beyond Benefits: Paid Time Off, Holidays, Preferred Partner Discounts and more.
