Fleet Manager
Maintenance manager to lead our fleet maintenance team. Responsible for overseeing everyday truck and equipment maintenance at locations in assigned area. Deliverables: Supervising and leading all shop repair work. Tracking truck availability and recording repairs daily. Assisting mechanics with major repairs and sourcing parts. Routinely inspecting all shops to check on needs, organization, safety, and record keeping. Overseeing repair records and equipment information in the fleet management software. Good understanding of mixer hydraulics and electrical controls. Strong knowledge and experience in heavy truck repair, engines, transmissions, after treatment, and welding. Proficient use of computers and Microsoft Office products. Excellent organization and leadership skills. Ability to coach and mentor techs. Competencies: Communicates effectively- Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences. Manages conflict- Handling conflict situations effectively, with a minimum of noise. Develops talent- Developing people to meet both their career goals and the organization's goal. Persuades- Using compelling arguments to gain the support and commitment of others. Role Expectations: This position will report to the Fleet Director. Weekly visits of all the shops, check with the mechanics there to see how things are progressing and if any issues with parts or repairs. Perform monthly fleet walks with maintenance team. Review paperwork (current invoices/Pos, driver write ups, DOT inspections, etc,) to make sure it is current and organized. Make sure shops are clean and that parts are stocked and put away. Perform quality control inspections on previous PM's and repairs. Review current outside repairs and get updates. Review current repairs and what is planned for the next day. Communicate and update what trucks are available for the next day. Update truck miles and hour and run a service report weekly. Move around work between shops and to outside shops, when necessary, based on workload. Enter and send off soil samples and check over reports on them. Enter outside repairs and specialty part orders into CMMS. Look over information being put into CMMS by mechanics and make sure it is accurate. Communicate and record all daily work being done. Documenting and repairing truck cameras and radios. Effectively set up each site parts area to coincide with business model. Manage daily operations of parts at sites. Quarterly inventory counts required at each site. Manage warranty recovery with site and corresponding OEM. Spend reduction through effective management of parts. Be able to collaborate cross functionally across all lines of business. Effective and accurate communicator. Detailed oriented. Become a Superuser of CMMS. Attend all fleet calls and be an active participant. Continue to gain industry knowledge and look to gain certifications that pertain to the position.
