Mechanical Tool Designer
We are seeking a Mechanical Designer with experience in Process Design for BIW Tooling Fixtures in automotive body shops. This role involves supporting lead designers in creating and maintaining Siemens Process Designer PLM databases, generating deliverables such as Joining Data Sheets, and conducting product investigations using Siemens NX CAD software. The candidate must be familiar with GM BOE and MD1 North American standards and specifications. Responsibilities
Support lead designers in creating and maintaining Siemens Process Designer PLM databases. Generate deliverables such as Joining Data Sheets. Conduct product investigations using Siemens NX CAD software. Collaborate with team members to ensure project success. Track and report engineering changes. Understand product structure and welding practices. Essential Skills
Moderate to strong experience with PLM Database. Proficiency in Siemens NX and GM Teamcenter. Understanding of product structure and welding practices. Experience with Microsoft Excel. Engineering change tracking and reporting. Ability to work collaboratively within a team. Additional Skills & Qualifications
3+ years of Mechanical Design and Engineering experience in Process Designer or an Associate Degree in Mechanical Technology. Basic NX Functions, Basic 3D Modeling Functions, Basic 2D Drafting Functions, and DCS Functions. Ability to work independently and in teams. Ability to travel domestically (520%) and internationally as needed. Work Environment
This is a hybrid opportunity with four days onsite at the design center in Southfield and one day remote work. The role offers the chance for domestic and international travel to support project needs, providing global exposure and broader industry experience. You will work in a supportive and fast-paced environment, collaborating with experienced lead designers and engineers. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
