Teacher Assistant (Part-Time) Work Objective
Provides tutorial and general program assistance in the development and supervision of program participants in activities associated with the departments after school program. Work is performed in the areas of tutorial/educational assistance programs, enrichment and character building initiatives, various prevention projects, and special events. Provides direct supervision and guidance to teacher aides in the delivery of effective instruction. Work is performed under general supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; supplemented by one year or more years' experience and/or training working with school age children; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience. Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (level to be determined by job classification requirements), or obtain within one year of employment. Must have or be able to obtain CPR and basic first aid training and Florida Department of Children and Families required early childhood education, teacher assistant, and/or childhood development associate certifications within one year of start date. In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.
