Electrical Installation Field Service Technician IV
Join NPI's Lifecycle Services team as an Electrical Installation Field Service Technician IV, where you'll lead the installation of conveyor-driven automated sorting systems for parcel handling. This role demands expert-level electrical knowledge, hands-on experience with mechanical systems, and a strong ability to collaborate with customers and internal teams. Ideal candidates will have a background in industrial or e-commerce material handling equipment and a passion for precision and quality in electrical installations. Key Responsibilities: Perform expert-level electrical installations of automated sorting systems with precision and efficiency. Lead and mentor less experienced technicians during installation projects. Interpret and apply complex electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and installation instructions. Collaborate with engineering and support teams to execute system upgrades and modifications. Ensure proper handling and management of company assets including parts inventory and tools. Communicate effectively with customers and team members to ensure smooth installation processes. Stay current with technical documentation, retrofit instructions, and system updates. Pursue ongoing education in electrical systems, networking, and software integration to maintain technical excellence. Respond to installation-related requests and timelines with professionalism and urgency. Identify and implement improvements in installation quality, safety, and efficiency. Understand customer-specific requirements including sort plans and IMB standards. Accurately generate and manage installation documentation and product dispatch records. Qualifications: Willingness to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays. Requires heavy travel for extended periods. Extensive experience and expertise in electrical systems, including wiring, controls, and diagnostics. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to integrate electrical components with mechanical systems. Proficiency in software applications relevant to equipment configuration and diagnostics. Skilled in using hand and power tools, oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and other precision instruments. Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and documentation. Physically capable of lifting 5075 lbs. and performing tasks requiring full mobility. Effective time management and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to follow detailed instructions independently and work collaboratively. Professionalism in navigating sensitive or high-pressure situations. Basic computer proficiency including DOS, Windows, UNIX, and Microsoft Office.
