JOB SUMMARY

The CT Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic procedures in CAT Scan. The technologist is responsible for all functions necessary to complete the procedures, such as, assessing patient for age and condition specific care, identifying and performing the appropriate exam, and documenting all appropriate actions in a timely manner. Communication and collaboration with all other healthcare team members is paramount. A CT Technologist performs diagnostic radiographic procedures as assigned. All actions shall be performed in adherence to hospital policy, federal and state regulations, and the highest professional practice standards.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

A CT Technologist performs radiographic procedures and/or CT procedures as directed by policy and procedure determined by the Medical Director of Diagnostic Imaging. They do so effectively by demonstrating effective problem solving skills, decision-making, and effective verbal and written communications skills to facilitate the best patient outcomes possible. All tasks are to be completed with a positive customer oriented approach.

EQUIPMENT/TOOLS/SOFTWARE

A CT Technologist specialist should have working knowledge of: All fixed and portable Diagnostic Imaging equipment Specific specialty equipment in designated area of CT Both the HIS and the RIS PACS and teleradiology

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

This individual is responsible for: Performing all assigned radiographic and/or CT procedures in a safe and appropriate manner. Communication with DI team members and other department staff members to promote an environment of cooperation and coordination which will result in the best patient outcomes possible. Correct documentation of all images, work requests, and associated patient files. Provision of appropriate pre and post test instructions to patients and/or family members. Promotion at all times of measures that ensure patient, employee, physician, and organization confidentiality. Adherence to all hospital policies and the promotion of a positive attitude toward the organization.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Perfors ancillary/support functions whenever need arises (image processing, transportation, etc). Participates in staff meetings, educational programs, committees, QA/QC activities, and mandatory in-services. Participates in the training of all assigned rad tech students. Performs tasks that are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job. Demonstrates initiative in personal/ professional development. Presents a professional image. Assists with control of costs through the judicious use of human and material resources. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements Include

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE Graduate of an accredited program for radiology technology with an emphasis on anatomy, physiology, radiation physics, and interpersonal communication skills. Individual MUST possess and maintain a current radiographer license from the State of Ohio Department of Health and a current A.R.R.T. registry as an R.T. Specialty license in CT from the appropriate licensing board is preferred (A.R.R.T) or will achieve specialty license within 2 years CPR certification required.. Preference will be given to individuals with past hospital experience
