Our Airlite - Canopy division is located in Oxnard, CA. Canopy is manufacturer of beauty and personal care packaging that focuses on product quality and exceptional customer service. Our product lines include a wide variety of jars, closures, and decorated packaging.
How would you contribute?
This role is a contributing member of our Airlite Plastics team, located in Oxnard, CA. As a Production Technician you are a key to continued growth and success of Airlite. The Injection Molding Technician role is responsible for providing support by assisting with and creating solid processes to address, resolve and track technical issues for injection mold systems; testing and modifying molding machinery, robots, and equipment to optimize run efficiency, reduce scrap and reduce cost of quality; working directly on the production floor in a continuous improvement and technical support role.
Essential Duties: Provide technical support to operate and troubleshoot process problems within the injection molding systems. Monitor / track technical issues for injection mold systems daily to determine the system losses. Including, but not limited to, system stops, downtime, cavitation, cycle time, and scrap losses. Work with production and engineering teams to resolve or improve system losses. This includes supporting process development, process testing and evaluation of system improvement. Devise, fabricate and assemble new or modified mechanical components for industrial equipment and machinery to resolve or improve system losses. Support the development of processes by evaluating process changes daily. Track and report findings to the production and engineering team. Assists in machine start-ups and shut down following documented procedures, during process testing. Communicate with quality auditors, machine operators, and production personnel to review quality problems, changes in process setup sheets or part handling processes; recommends Maintains safety and housekeeping expectations, reports potential machine or work hazards, responds immediately to emergency machine problems, and insures the safety of co-workers within designated work area. Communicates with other shifts about machine problems, quality problems, and changes in molding process and handling. Assists in training and development of others. Maintain company attendance standards. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, knowledge, skills abilities required: Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school is preferred Previous experience in a manufacturing setting using processing skills is preferred. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues. Capability to utilize problem solving skills. Good organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects/activities/goals. Must be able to work well with others, build partnerships and support team members. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and tactful in dealing with people at all levels. Must be self-motivated and positive. Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations. Display highest ethical standards. Maintain the utmost level of confidentiality in dealing with sensitive information. Detail oriented, with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Basic computer skills with the ability to operate Microsoft Office products. Upholds and supports organizational goals and values. Takes initiative and asks for help when needed.
