Description
Performance of complex early intervention services which foster and monitor child progress in the acquisition and mastery of functional skills to reduce or overcome limitations resulting from disabilities or developmental delays to infants and toddlers and their families, under the authority of Health and Human Services Commission. Essential tasks include collaboration as a member of interdisciplinary teams, evaluation, assessment, eligibility determination, treatment planning, documentation, therapeutic intervention and consultation services in family homes and community settings, records review, and maintenance, other ECI related duties required.
Additionally: Performs motor and developmental evaluation and assessment accurately, using formal testing methods and Informed Clinical Opinion, in order to establish eligibility and developmental needs. Participates as a collaborative team member for the Development of an Individualized Family Service Plan. Follows Provision of Physical therapy Services as outlined in the IFSP. Follows Provision of direct services to families in accordance with ECI of LifePath Systems productivity standards. Meets timeframes in accordance with LifePath Systems ECI Program Functions as a contributing and effective team member of the ECI team.
Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience (including licensure and certification) •Minimum: Bachelor's Master's, or Doctorate level degree, Licensed by the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners, current PT status and license. •Must complete required hours for continuing professional education and ethics as discipline applicable. •After employment, must complete required ECI State Trainings and LPS required trainings.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities •Comprehensive knowledge of typical and atypical child development, and childhood disabilities, birth to three. •Comprehensive knowledge of and understanding of team and family dynamics. •Ability to contribute discipline specific skills and clinical judgment as a member of an interdisciplinary team which include parents, caregivers, and other professional staff. •Ability to perform under minimal supervision with considerable requirements for initiative, discretion, independent thought, judgment, and self-motivation in matters of significance to families as well as the agency. •Well-developed interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, time management /organization skills, and basic computer skills. •Ability to independently conduct discussions and formulate recommendations for developmentally appropriate treatment plans. •Ability to comprehend and adhere to current methodologies in early intervention practices in the provision of Physical Therapy services.
