Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse to join our team for a 13-week assignment. This position involves working 3 nights a week, from 7 PM to 7 AM, in a dynamic healthcare environment. As a NICU RN, you will provide exceptional care to neonates, including micro preemies, while potentially floating across five different hospitals based on patient needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive care to neonates in a Level III NICU, with a patient ratio of 1:4. - Float between Voorhees, Marlton, Mt. Holly, Willingboro, and OLOL hospitals as required. - Take part in couplet care practices, supporting both mother and child. - Monitor and manage patients on high-frequency ventilation and other advanced respiratory support. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services. - Perform essential nursing tasks such as administration of medications, IV starts, and central line care. - Conduct assessments, document patient care accurately, and maintain compliance with facility policies. - Participate in educational support for families regarding care procedures and developmental needs of neonates.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of NICU experience required, with Level III experience preferred. - Expertise in caring for micro preemies and knowledge of high-frequency ventilation techniques. - Current BLS and NRP certifications are mandatory at the time of submission. - Epic charting experience is preferred. - Ability to float to different hospitals as workloads dictate. - Must have an active NJ RN license or a compact state license.
Additional Requirements:
- Commitment to work during one winter holiday and one summer holiday. - No on-call shifts are required. - RTO (Request Time Off) must be submitted at the time of application; no changes will be accepted post-submission. - Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and passing a dysrhythmia test during orientation is expected.
Work Environment:
- Expect to work in a fast-paced medical environment with an average daily census of 8-10 patients. - Interdisciplinary support will include professionals from various specialties to aid in comprehensive patient care.
