Job Description Job Title: Polysomnographic Technologist Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: Polysomnographer / Sleep Tech Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in Sleep Medicine as a recording and scoring polysomnographic technician/technologist. License: Current licensure as a Polysomnographic Technologist in Virginia. Certifications: Current RPSGT and AHA BLS Certification.
Must-Have: - Two years of clinical experience using various Sleep Medicine equipment, troubleshooting, and correcting recording artifacts. - Previous affiliation or work experience in a similar practice setting. - Education, training, or experience that has satisfied the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT).
Description: Polysomnographic Technologist needed for immediate start. This position requires expertise in recording and scoring polysomnographic studies. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in a variety of Sleep Medicine equipment. You will need to identify and correct artifacts during sleep study operations. The position involves determining when to implement therapy during sleep testing. Candidates must score sleep testing data with an 85% agreement rate with the Medical Director. You will coordinate scheduling of procedures and distribute daily workloads effectively. Experience with pediatric and neonatal patients is preferred. Familiarity with various testing methods, including MSLT and MWT, is also advantageous. The ideal candidate will have training and competency in performing polysomnographic functions for different age groups. Compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations is essential.
