NEPC is looking for an Investment Analyst to join our Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO) team. This position works with the Portfolio Strategists and the broader Research team to recommend and implement investment decisions for our OCIO clients. They are also supported by the NEPC Investment Operations team. The OCIO team works closely with both the Research and Consulting teams at NEPC.

NEPC's OCIO business covers all major institutional client types including but not limited to: Endowment & Foundation, Healthcare, Pension (public, Taft-Hartley, and corporate), Defined Contribution, and ultra-high net worth (private wealth) portfolios. The OCIO Investment Analyst would be exposed to all of these client types but likely have a primary focus on a subset of these. In addition to client coverage, the OCIO Analyst has asset class coverage where they will work very closely with the relevant NEPC research team who covers that asset class.

Job Summary:

In this highly visible and fast-paced role, you will manage all aspects of discretionary portfolios including strategic and tactical asset allocation, portfolio construction, manager implementation, daily portfolio monitoring and rebalancing, cash management and client support. You will also prepare materials for the NEPC OCIO Committee meetings and interact with the Committee. Additionally, you will help prepare materials for time-sensitive new business opportunities. This individual will also be responsible for leading projects to improve portfolio management and operations, including specialty projects and research by client type / asset class.

Job Requirements: A minimum of two - five years of investment-related experience is preferred. College degree required; advanced degree and/or the CAIA® designation, CFA® designation (or progress toward these credentials) is preferred and is a requirement for longer-term career growth on the team. Understanding and interest in investing, including the asset managers, consultants, and allocators operating in the space, is preferred. Strong knowledge of financial markets and ability to communicate current market conditions to both internal and external stakeholders. Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); Candidates will be expected to have proficient Excel modeling skills with the ability to take data sets and synthesize into outputs that provide the base analytics for investment research. Investment modeling experience strongly preferred. Ability to quickly gain command of new software packages, analytic platforms and investment databases is essential; familiarity with FactSet, Bloomberg, eVestment and Spotfire is preferred. A demonstration of abilities will be part of the interview process as part of a case study. Must have strong organizational, problem solving and time management skills. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, are imperative. Mature, professional demeanor and ability to present to clients and prospects is important, as that aspect of the role will increase with time.
