As a collaborative team member of VPUE, you have a unique opportunity to advance and support programs that touch and enhance the lives of every undergraduate student at Stanford. As the hub of the university-wide Cardinal Service effort at Stanford University, the Haas Center for Public Service is hiring for an exciting early-career role focused on student engagement on environmental sustainability, with a particular focus on climate justice issues in the Bay Area. The Program Associate will work closely with Haas Center staff, community partner organizations, and other units at Stanford to engage undergraduate and graduate students in community engaged learning and service around environmental sustainability. A key focus of the role will be to support implementation of the Haas Centers initiative, Partnerships for Climate Justice in the Bay Area (PCJ in the Bay). PCJ in the Bay engages students in all four dimensions of Cardinal Service (see below) as part of long-term collaborations with partner organizations working on climate justice issues in the Bay Area region. Responsibilities include collaborating with the respective Cardinal Service teams to: ? Support the implementation of summer fellowships for graduate and undergraduate students with PCJ in the Bay partners (Cardinal Quarter); ? Assist in creating and implementing volunteer opportunities in collaboration with student organizations (Cardinal Commitment); ? Coordinate programming to promote careers in climate justice (Cardinal Careers); and ? Help build community engaged learning and research opportunities involving PCJ in the Bay partners (Cardinal Courses/Community Engaged Research). Additionally, the Program Associate will assist in overall PCJ in the Bay program management, including: ? Coordinate and support the PCJ in the Bay Advisory Board; ? Develop and maintain web content and other communication materials; ? Conduct outreach about student engagement opportunities; ? Assist in maintaining and improving a system for documenting student contributions and PCJ in the Bays community partnerships; ? Assist in drafting reports and other communication materials; ? Support Community Service Work Study (CSWS) opportunities involving PCJ in the Bay partners; ? Support AmeriCorps VISTA opportunities involving PCJ in the Bay partners; and ? Support sustained evaluation of PCJ in the Bays impact. Ability to work independently to meet expected deadlines and schedules ? Demonstrated ability to work as a team player ? Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite ? Basic analysis and problem-solving skills In addition, preferred requirements include: ?
