*Job Overview *Animal Farm Family LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team. This role will be critical in managing the financial integrity of our rapidly expanding e-commerce brands, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and supporting our leadership team with key insights. This is a hybrid role based at our headquarters in Boise, Idaho.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Prepare and review financial statements and reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, ensuring accuracy and GAAP compliance. * Develop and maintain financial schedules, particularly for: * Leases * Inventory reserves * Bad debt reserves * Sales and gross margin validation * Monitoring short-term vs. long-term liabilities * Amortization and depreciation schedules * Perform and oversee key balance sheet reconciliations, including areas such as: * Unit cost * Inventory valuation * Sales recognition * Cost of sales * Audit and reconcile sales tax across all companies. * Assist with both internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to audit inquiries. * Ensure adherence to all regulatory reporting and internal control requirements. * Identify and implement process improvements to drive accuracy and efficiency in accounting operations. * Partner with other departments (e.g., operations, sales) to ensure that financial reporting aligns with business operations.
*Skills and Qualifications:*
* Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or Masters Degree preferred. * Minimum of 5+ years experience in Staff Accountant to Senior level roles, with progressive growth. Roles in cost accounting, Ecommerce, Retail and/ or CPG preferred. * Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including SUMIFS, vlookups, basic Macros * Must have practical, hand on experience with ERP Systems (Acumatica, would be a huge plus). * Strong understanding of GAAP, with a focus on maintaining schedules and auditing financial statements. * Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work with internal stakeholders of all levels. * Experience in unit cost, inventory valuation, sales recognition, cost of sales, and balance sheet reconciliations. * Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
*Compensation: *
The base salary per year is dependent on experience. The total compensation package may include performance bonuses, benefits, and/or other applicable compensation plans.
