Barnes & Noble is in search of a motivated IT Project Management Lead with a proven track record in delivering multiple technology projects simultaneously. This pivotal role offers an opportunity to significantly influence our enterprise by steering critical IT initiatives to success. You won’t just oversee projects; you will spearhead transformative technology solutions that enhance our operational capabilities.
We are looking for a candidate who possesses exceptional communication and presentation skills, as you will be responsible for effectively driving deliverables, facilitating productive meetings, showcasing fruitful demonstrations, and conducting thorough retrospectives with both technical teams and stakeholders.
This is a hybrid role based out of either our Monroe, NJ distribution center or our NYC, NY office, conveniently located across from Union Square. The annual starting salary for this position ranges from $125,000 to $150,000, depending on your experience, seniority, geographic area, and other legal considerations.
What You Will Do:
Collaborate with senior project managers and IT leadership to deliver crucial technology solutions.
Lead cross-functional technology teams to execute project scopes and deliverables on schedule, within budget, and with high quality.
Manage relationships and deliverables with third-party partners and internal IT teams.
Oversee medium to large-scale enterprise projects using a WAgile (Waterfall/Agile) approach, and adeptly handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Coordinate project plans, track issues, and drive resolutions effectively.
Ensure transparent communication regarding project status and proactively inform management about potential risks.
Maintain strong collaboration with software, infrastructure, and hardware teams.
Conduct comprehensive documentation for project budgets, scope, schedules, milestones, risks, and communication plans.

A profound understanding of the full lifecycle of IT projects, from initiation to closure.
The ability to drive projects forward, holding multiple parties accountable for on-time deliverables.
Expert meeting facilitation skills and strong organizational capabilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in presentations.
The capacity for sound decision-making under pressure.
Experience with Agile and Waterfall project methodologies in a WAgile context.
A solid grasp of IT Infrastructure principles, including server and storage management.
Familiarity with networking fundamentals like TCP/IP and firewalls.
A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
3-5 years of IT Project Management experience in a dynamic environment.
Experience in upgrading complex application architectures or IT infrastructure modernization projects.
Preferred:
PMP or Scrum certification
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Project or similar tools.
