A Glimpse of the Job

The Business Coordinator II is responsible for providing support and coordination of a variety of business activities requiring independent judgement, including reviewing business documents and assisting in developing, monitoring, and reporting accounts and budget data.

Essential Duties/Tasks:

Coordinate Business Travel

Coordinate business travel for Technology Services staff across multiple units.

Assist staff with preparation of travel request/expense reports in Concur, booking travel, and acquiring travel cards.

Purchase training/registration on travel or payment cards.

Act as a liaison between department and staff and department and Financial Management Operations.

Review and Approve Travel

Audit and approve travel requests/expense reports in Emburse to ensure compliance with complex internal and University wide travel procedures.

Training

Participate in the hiring and training of business staff and/or student workers and may provide supervision.

Train staff on new and existing business procedures and provides policies and regulations to staff.

Fiscal Activities

Coordinates annual fiscal year end closing activities and drafts new fiscal year plans with little direct supervision.

Proposes solutions to routine financial problems and coordinates the implementation of changes in travel policy processes.

Locates System policies and regulations and University rules as applicable.

Reporting

Communicate travel updates to IT in order to keep website up to date.

Provide internal reports and updates for outstanding travel expenses.

Assist with Accounts Payable

Assist with processing payables and purchase requisitions when needed.

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Three years of related experience in general office, accounting, or personnel operations.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with TAMU disbursement of funds and travel policies and procedures.

Working knowledge of Emburse.

Experience with Canopy/FAMIS.

Experience with AggieBuy

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Other Requirements and Factors

This position is security sensitive.

This position requires compliance with state and federal laws/codes and Texas A&M University System/TAMU policies, regulations, rules and procedures.
