Position Highlights Join a growing hospital cardiac surgery program in a Level II trauma center 1 cardiac case per day (not every day) 5–7 general cases daily When cardiac cases are not scheduled, you’ll assist with general anesthesia coverage CRNA students rotate through ORs — must be comfortable working with trainees 8 ORs running simultaneously; busy but highly supported environment Rare occasions may require brief supervision at an ASC (if no cardiac cases are running) Cerner EMR (transitioning to Epic); some paper charting Multispecialty mix: general, ortho, ENT, podiatry, urology, and more Cardiac caseload projected to grow with newly signed surgeon Patient population spans adolescent through geriatric ⚙️ Clinical Environment Staffing Model: Mostly solo cases (some supervision by permanent partners) Annual Cardiac Case Volume: ~90 open-heart surgeries projected No OB ; very sick children referred to tertiary centers Must be comfortable reading, interpreting, and billing TEE Work within a tight-knit team of 6 anesthesiologists Compensation Pay rate: $440–$470/hr Malpractice covered ✈️ Travel & Coverage Travel lodging malpractice are covered Long-term opportunity with a path toward schedule stability ✅ Submission Requirements Board Certified/Eligible in Anesthesiology TEE Certification required (must interpret, not just place probe) Cardiac Fellowship preferred , or equivalent experience BLS, ACLS, PALS – Required Active Iowa license or IMLC (with LOQ uploaded) – Required COVID vaccination – Required Must be available during requested coverage dates High-Interest Opportunity – Act Fast!
