PEMEX Deer Park is a highly complex refinery located 18 miles east of Houston in Deer Park, TX, and is a part of the PEMEX group which is a fully integrated oil company in the Americas, working across the entire value chain: exploration, production, industrial processing/refining, logistics and marketing. Job Purpose

n

As a Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer, you will be responsible for the reliability, maintenance, and performance optimization of rotating equipment within the refinery. You will lead efforts to ensure the safe and efficient operation of pumps, compressors, turbines, and other rotating machinery. Your expertise will be crucial in troubleshooting, failure analysis, and implementing preventive measures to minimize downtime and enhance equipment longevity.

· Ability to manage interfaces across the organizations (inside and outside of Deer Park) to assure effective Rotating Equipment engineering support and alignment on priorities and technical direction. Excellent technical and interpersonal skills are needed to interface between disciplines and to align the various stakeholders.

· Ability to manage the Deer Park rotating equipment asset management system, other work process interfaces, and technical communities.

n

· Reliability improvement of the operating units is a key priority for the site. Included with this is shared stewardship with the business to grow the business through strong technical support to key Growth projects at the site.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

n

· Equipment Reliability: Ensure the reliability and availability of rotating equipment through effective maintenance strategies and performance monitoring.

n

· Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues related to rotating equipment, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.

n

· Maintenance Planning: Provide quality assurance for maintenance plans, schedules, procedures and execution for rotating equipment.

n

· Performance Optimization: Implement strategies to optimize the performance and efficiency of rotating machinery.

n

· Failure Analysis: Conduct detailed failure analysis and recommend improvements to prevent recurrence.

n

· Project Management: Lead and manage projects related to equipment upgrades, replacements, and installations.

n

· Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and standards.

n

· Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance to maintenance teams and other engineering staff.

n

· Documentation: Maintain accurate records of equipment performance, maintenance activities, and technical reports.

n

· Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in equipment reliability and maintenance practices.

Physical Demands

· Medium work: lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds

Education & Experience Qualifications

n

· 8-10 years of relevant experience in rotating equipment engineering within oil and gas, refining, or petrochemical industries; including operating, maintaining, specifying, designing, engineering, purchasing, installing, and commissioning of rotating equipment used in refining and/or petrochemical manufacturing facilities – required

n

· Strong field experience in operating environments including in plant field walks, troubleshooting, turnaround support and construction support

n

· Strong knowledge of industry codes and standards

n

· Demonstrated ability to influence internal and external stakeholders

n

· Degree required: BS in Mechanical Engineering

n

· Technical Skills: Proficiency in vibration analysis, thermography, lubrication, and other predictive maintenance techniques.

n

· Leadership: Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide junior engineers.

n

· Familiarity with maintenance management software and tools.

n

· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

n

· The candidate should also have excellent verbal and written communication skills and possess the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Good interpersonal skills and a high degree of work organization are expected. Proven capability to learn and understand complex requirements.
