Job Title: Licensed Electrician
Location: Detroit, MI
Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire
Position Overview
We are seeking skilled Licensed Electricians to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment in an industrial environment. This includes working with motors, generators, transformers, control systems, and high-voltage equipment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on all facility electrical equipment, power, and lighting systems.
  • Install, repair, and maintain motors, generators, transformers, timing devices, switches, cable, and conduits.
  • Work with 480 VAC 3-phase motor control systems.
  • Test and diagnose electrical machinery, control equipment, and circuits.
  • Troubleshoot and correct deficiencies in electrical systems.
  • Dismantle, repair, and reassemble equipment as needed.
  • Use diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools to complete repairs.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Complete required reports and documentation accurately.
  • Collaborate with team members and management to address safety, production, and quality concerns.
  • Cross-train and perform incidental tasks as needed.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; vocational or technical diploma in electrical trade preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years' experience as an industrial electrician.
  • Journeyman card or electrical certification required.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose electrical issues in industrial systems.
  • Experience with PLCs (programmable logic controllers) preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical switchgear, motor starters, transformers, generators, relay logic, PLCs, and VFDs.
  • Proficient in the safe use of lifting devices, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and effective communication abilities.
  • Must be fluent in English.
