Missouri Baptist Medical Center (MBMC) is now hiring a skilled/experienced Part-Time Lab Associate III for our Processing and Customer Service departments on Evening Shift - Microbiology Lab at Missouri Baptist Medical Center (3015 N Ballas Rd, St. Louis, MO, 63131)

***$1000 Sign-on Bonus!!!

Position Details:

  • Day Shift: Wed – Fri (6:30am- 3pm)
  • No weekends – but can choose to pick up weekend shifts (availability a plus)
  • Part-Time (benefits eligible) 24 hours per week
  • Processing specimens for culture, plating, quality control, PCR, rapid testing
  • General Lab Processing & Customer Service Dept (Send-outs )
  • In-Office position (non-remote)
  • Lab Pre-Analytic Departments
  • Receive, process, and distribute laboratory specimens including storage, packaging, and shipping of specimens
  • Provide results to caregivers
  • This position does not perform phlebotomy

Experience:

  • Strong Lab experience (preferred)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Call Center and/or phone customer service experience
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service abilities, especially in a call center or phone environment.
  • Proficient in various computer systems and comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced setting
  • Biology or related degree (preferred)
  • You could be a great fit if have experience in one of these areas: Clinical or Medical Laboratory Assistant (CLA), MLA, Processing Technician, Laboratory Tech, Lab Assistant, Pre-Analytical Assistant, Lab Support Representative, Specimen Processing, Customer Service Rep (CSR), etc.

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Performs a variety of pre analytic, analytic and post analytic laboratory duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Performs waived and moderate complex testing with appropriate training and competency, sweat chloride collections, EKG's, etc.
  • Under supervision, reports test results as appropriate.
  • Sorts and processes routine and specific high level specimens received by the lab--including multistep technical processing (i.e. Histology, Microbiology, Cytology, etc.). Ensures correct processing and packaging for esoteric send out tests.
  • Coordinates a simultaneous series of tasks accurately, including STAT orders and fluctuation in workload, prioritizing work to complete within scheduled hours and established turnaround times.
  • Inventory management, equipment cleaning, maintenance, loading, etc.
