Location: St. William the Abbot School, Seaford, NY
Shift: 8:00 AM - 2:30 PM EST
Job Summary:
A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is needed to provide one-on-one support to a diabetic student at St. William the Abbot School in Seaford, NY. This role involves monitoring the student's health, assisting with diabetes management, and ensuring their well-being throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and document blood glucose levels , recognizing signs of hyperglycemia or hypoglycemia.
• Administer insulin or other necessary interventions based on the student's Individualized Healthcare Plan (IHP) and physician instructions.
• Assist with meal planning and snack management to help maintain stable blood sugar levels.
• Communicate with school staff, parents, and healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
• Maintain accurate health records and document any interventions provided.
• Follow emergency protocols in case of a diabetic emergency.
• Provide basic first aid and support as needed throughout the school day.
• Ensure compliance with school health policies and procedures while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Active CNA license (Certified Nursing Assistant) in New York.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Experience working with diabetic patients , preferably in a pediatric or school setting.
• Ability to recognize and respond to diabetic symptoms and emergencies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with children, parents, and school staff.
• Completion of reference checks and work history verification.
• Valid Social Security Number (SSN) card
