POSITION PURPOSE
The Medical Assistant II (Certified) position maintains certification and is responsible for a variety of patient care, technical, and clerical-related functions under the direction of a physician. The Medical Assistant II (Certified) is responsible for the clinic-patient flow by assisting members of the patient care team and providing a broad range of healthcare services that assist medical and/or nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients and ensure the clinic/office runs smoothly.
MINIMUM MANDATORY qualifications

MINIMUM MANDATORY qualifications
Experience:
- 5 years as a Medical Assistant
- High school diploma or GED High School Equivalency Test required.
- Medical Assistant Certification required or Current Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification. If a graduate of a Medical Assistant Course or EMT without a Medical Assistant Certification it must be completed within 6 months of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required and maintained throughout employment.
- Possess a strong professional, personable, and motivational personality that builds strong relationships with patients.
- Applications include Microsoft Word and Outlook and familiarity with electronic health record systems.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with practice leadership, physicians, advanced practitioners, colleagues, and other Holy Cross Medical Center (HCMC) and Taos Professional Services (TPS) team members.
