Project Architect - Mission Critical
This position can be worked from any geographical location.
PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Mission Critical sector is seeking a senior-level architect to join a well-established and growing team of architects and engineers responsible for delivering innovative, responsive, sustainable, and well-executed data center buildings to a diverse group of US-based and international clients. Data Center projects include site entitlement design and approvals, campus planning, programming, building design, and technical and sustainable research. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working on Data Center projects. Candidates with experience in complex technical and integrated building projects are encouraged to apply. Selected candidates will lead and engage with a diverse project team including clients, developers, local authorities, architects, and engineers. Strong communication skills, both verbal and graphic, are essential to oversee project milestones and ensure alignment with contractual and financial objectives. The Project Architect role requires a talented professional eager to engage with the HED Mission Critical team as a hands-on leader. TYPICAL DUTIES
Develop site and master plans in collaboration with clients and civil engineering teams for site entitlements and building design approvals. Lead building system concepts and documentation from schematic design through construction administration. Support project pursuits by assisting Project Managers and Principals in scope and fee development. Serve as team leader on large, complex, integrated architecture and engineering projects. Work directly with sophisticated client teams and diverse stakeholders. Oversee and direct project team members. Prepare and monitor discipline work plans. Conduct code research and document findings. Research materials and products for project development. Develop and edit project specifications using RIB SpecLink. Sign and seal documentation prepared under supervision. Participate in project meetings and review submittals during bidding and construction phases. Ensure quality architectural and engineering services within the project team. Perform additional duties as assigned. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree and licensure required. LEED accreditation preferred, with a passion for sustainable and resilient design. Minimum of fifteen years experience in the A/E industry preferred. Extensive knowledge of all phases of professional services, from schematic design to project close-out. Strong understanding of interdisciplinary coordination requirements. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills. Ability to motivate, mentor staff, and delegate tasks. Proficiency in Revit. Willingness to work with remote team members via video conferencing and other tools. Detail-oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and flexible. Ability to work effectively under deadlines. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Travel to project sites for meetings, observations, and evaluations. Access to existing and new project sites for inspection purposes. Use of communication and documentation equipment. Visual acuity to perform responsibilities.
