Project Architect - Mission Critical
Job Description

PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Mission Critical sector is seeking a senior-level architect to join a well-established and growing team of architects and engineers responsible for delivering innovative, responsive, sustainable, and well-executed data center buildings to diverse US-based and international clients. Projects include site entitlement design, campus planning, programming, building design, and technical and sustainable research.
The ideal candidate will have experience with Data Center projects and complex technical and integrated building projects. They will lead and engage with a diverse project team, including clients, developers, authorities, architects, and engineers. Strong communication skills are essential to oversee project milestones and ensure alignment with contractual and financial objectives. The role requires a hands-on professional eager to lead project team members within the HED Mission Critical team.
TYPICAL DUTIES
Develop site and master plans in collaboration with clients and civil engineering teams for site entitlements and approvals.
Manage building system concepts and documentation from schematic design through construction administration.
Support project pursuits by assisting in scope and fee development alongside the Project Manager and Principal in Charge.
Lead large, complex, integrated architecture and engineering projects.
Work directly with sophisticated clients and diverse stakeholders.
Oversee and direct project team members.
Prepare and monitor discipline work plans.
Research codes, materials, and products as needed.
Develop and edit project specifications in RIB SpecLink.
Sign and seal documentation under supervision.
Attend project meetings as required.
Review submittals and interpret documents during bidding and construction.
Ensure quality architectural and engineering services within the project team.
Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree and licensure required.
LEED accreditation preferred, with a passion for sustainable design.
Minimum of fifteen years' experience in the A/E industry preferred.
Extensive knowledge of all project phases from schematic design to close-out.
Strong understanding of multidisciplinary coordination.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to motivate, mentor, and delegate to staff.
Proficient in Revit.
Willingness to work remotely using video conferencing and other tools.
Detail-oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and flexible.
Capable of working under deadlines and traveling to project sites.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Travel to project sites for meetings and evaluations.
Access to project sites for observation and investigation.
Use of communication and documentation equipment.
Visual acuity for responsibilities.
