When you work in Hawaii, in addition to learning about the functional aspects of running a hotel — like the proper way to make a bed or how to best handle luggage — it’s critically important to understand Hawaiian culture and the spirit of ‘ohana, or ‘family.’ When opening the first Andaz property in Hawaii, our team participated in Hawaiian culture training to help us understand what ‘ohana truly means.
Job Responsibilities You will be responsible for assisting with the efficient running of the department in line with Hyatt International's Corporate Strategies and brand standards, while meeting employee, guest, and owner expectations. The Assistant Manager - Human Resources assists in the smooth and efficient operation of the Personnel Department within the Human Resources Division, supporting the implementation of Hyatt's People Philosophy throughout the hotel.
Qualifications Ideally, candidates should have a university degree or diploma in HRM/HRD or Hospitality/Tourism management. A minimum of 2 years of work experience as a Human Resources Assistant Manager or Coordinator in a larger operation is required. Good problem-solving, administrative, and interpersonal skills are essential.
