Overview: Operations Site Manager Interstate Waste Services is a leading provider of solid waste and recycling services, primarily serving Northern New Jersey, Southern New York State, New York City, Connecticut, and operating a state-of-the-art landfill in Ohio. We serve residential, industrial, and commercial customers, focusing on high-quality environmental services with an emphasis on safety. Job Summary: Job Highlights The Site Manager oversees operations within a specific site or line of business, managing depots, facilities, expenses, and staff to ensure safety, efficiency, and productivity. Key responsibilities include: Managing daily depot operations and supporting operational staff to meet quality and budget goals. Monitoring budgets and operational metrics, and improving processes. Ensuring safety compliance with company standards, OSHA, and other regulations. Investigating injuries and incidents, implementing discipline, retraining, and corrective actions. Managing personnel including hiring, coaching, disciplining, training, and performance evaluation. Setting short-term and long-term goals with senior management. Participating in P&L reviews, managing equipment and labor costs. Engaging with local agencies to maintain customer satisfaction, renew, and negotiate contracts. Resolving employee and labor relations issues. Requirements and Qualifications: Supervisory experience: 5+ years managing teams, including direct and indirect reports. Education and Experience: Associate degree or equivalent; High School Diploma or GED with 2 years relevant experience. At least 3 years in transportation, logistics, or waste operations, with experience coaching and leading employees. Skills and Abilities: Experience in operations, customer service, community relations, health and safety, finance, and HR. Experience implementing OSHA safety programs, managing budgets, and resolving labor issues.
