A high-end residential interior design firm in New York City is seeking a talented and seasoned Senior Interior Designer with a strong foundation in architectural design and project management. Responsibilities: Lead projects from initial concept through installation with minimal supervision, ensuring alignment with the firm’s aesthetic and design standards Interpret and execute the Principal’s design vision while contributing original ideas and design direction Oversee the sourcing and specification of furniture, fabrics, fixtures, and finishes to meet project goals, timelines, and budgets Prepare and oversee all design documentation, including plans, specifications, schedules, and shop drawings Develop and present detailed and accurate design proposals and presentations to clients Manage the entire specification process (sourcing, quoting, proposals, purchasing) and ensure accuracy and efficiency Serve as a primary point of contact for vendors, consultants, and clients—maintaining clear communication and timely follow-through Coordinate and attend site visits, installations, and walkthroughs; problem-solve in real-time on-site Collaborate closely with GCs and vendor partners to ensure successful execution of construction and installation Uphold and evolve internal design processes and standards with an eye toward efficiency and excellence Requirements: Minimum of 7 years of professional interior design experience, with a portfolio of completed residential projects Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Interior Design or Architecture Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3ds Max, Adobe Creative Suite, and relevant design software Deep knowledge of design history, styles, materials, and current trends Strong network of vendor, showroom, and industry contacts Highly self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously Excellent communication, presentation, and client-facing skills Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills, especially during construction and install phases To apply, please email your resume and portfolio to
