POSITION TYPE: Hybrid
SALARY: $80,000-$110,000 (Salary Commensurate based on experience)
Position Summary The Senior Accountant at Community Connections Inc (CCI) plays a vital role in managing the month-end closing process, daily accounting functions, and the administration of grants and contracts. Responsibilities include monitoring grant budgets, ensuring compliance with government and private grants, supporting grant management, and overseeing daily and monthly accounting functions. The role requires adaptability and the ability to work independently in a deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee payroll processing and serve as backup for payroll-related questions.
Support daily accounting functions and prepare monthly journal entries.
Oversee monthly closing process and review financial statements.
Assist in annual audits and maintain bookkeeping for Romark Corporation.
Communicate with HUD regarding housing vouchers and filings.
Prepare annual reports and filings for Romark Corporation and HUD.
Grants and Contracts Administration
Coordinate grant proposals, create timelines, and manage documentation.
Assist with proposal budgets and communicate grant status to leadership.
Maintain tracking tables for grants and contracts, ensure compliance, and prepare financial reports.
Monitor government portals and support development of internal controls.
Develop relationships with government agencies and funders.
Prepare indirect cost rate proposals annually.
Additional Responsibilities
Model and reinforce the organization's mission, values, and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Maintain compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.
Complete required training and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field (Bachelor’s preferred).
At least 2 years’ experience in a senior accountant role managing month-end close.
Experience with government grants, contracts, and federal indirect cost guidelines.
Strong leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Proactive and results-oriented, able to work independently and collaboratively.
