E-Commerce Director Eastern Industrial Supplies is seeking an experienced and strategic E-Commerce Director to lead and expand our digital presence and online sales initiatives. This pivotal role will be responsible for developing and executing our e-commerce strategy, driving online revenue growth, enhancing customer experience, and optimizing our digital platforms for our growing, privately held wholesale distribution business. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in e-commerce leadership, a deep understanding of B2B online sales, and a passion for leveraging technology to drive business results. Responsibilities: E-commerce Strategy & Vision:

Develop and execute a comprehensive e-commerce strategy that aligns with the company's overall business objectives, focusing on revenue growth, market share expansion, and customer satisfaction in the wholesale distribution sector. Platform Management:

Oversee the development, maintenance, and optimization of all e-commerce platforms (e.g., website, mobile apps, B2B portals), ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience for our wholesale customers. Sales & Marketing:

Drive online sales initiatives through effective digital marketing campaigns (SEO, SEM, email marketing, social media), promotional strategies, and customer engagement programs. Data Analysis & Reporting:

Utilize data analytics to monitor e-commerce performance, identify trends, track KPIs (e.g., conversion rates, average order value, customer lifetime value), and generate actionable insights for continuous improvement. Customer Experience:

Champion the online customer journey, implementing strategies to enhance user experience, streamline order processing, improve customer support, and personalize interactions for our wholesale clients. Product Management:

Collaborate with product and purchasing teams to ensure accurate and compelling product content, effective categorization, and optimal merchandising on the e-commerce platforms. Technology & Innovation:

Stay abreast of emerging e-commerce technologies, trends, and best practices, evaluating and recommending new tools or features to maintain a competitive edge. Team Leadership:

Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing e-commerce team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning along with direct supervision. Cross-functional Collaboration:

Work closely with sales, marketing, IT, operations, and customer service teams to ensure alignment and integration of e-commerce activities with broader business functions. Budget Management:

Manage the e-commerce budget effectively, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to achieve strategic goals. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, E-Commerce, or a related field if preferred. MBA or related Master's degree is a plus. 8+ years of progressive experience in e-commerce, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or director-level role, preferably within a wholesale distribution B2B environment. Proven track record of significantly growing online sales and improving e-commerce KPIs. Strong understanding of e-commerce platforms, content management systems, CRM, and ERP integrations. Expertise in digital marketing channels (SEO, SEM, email, social media, display advertising) and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics). Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic e-commerce plans. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of UX/UI best practices and customer journey mapping. Familiarity with the wholesale distribution industry and its unique e-commerce challenges and opportunities is a plus.
