Software plays a key role in this vision, and we are hiring a software manager to lead our efforts. Position Summary:
We’re seeking a Product Manager II with expertise in EVSE communications, including OCPP, OCPI, and charger-server operations. This mid-level role involves working in an agile environment to improve network uptime, diagnostics, charging quality, and customer satisfaction. You will collaborate with development teams, engineering, hardware partners, and vendors to enhance charger communication reliability, security, and interoperability. Responsibilities: Own the product roadmap and backlog for charger communication enhancements, including OCPP and OCPI initiatives, diagnostics, and remote monitoring. Lead agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming) and work closely with engineering as both Product Owner and Scrum Master. Define user stories and acceptance criteria to improve charger performance and communication resilience. Collaborate with hardware and operations teams to debug issues, deploy fixes, and validate performance. Contribute to protocol specifications, certifications, and API design to champion interoperability and scalability. Become the subject matter expert on charger communications and partner with teams to evolve EVgo’s management and telemetry capabilities. Prioritize enhancements that improve uptime and charging experience for customers and partners. Qualifications: 2-5 years of product management experience with technical products or platforms. Familiarity with EV charging protocols such as OCPP (1.6+ and/or 2.0.1, ISO 15118) and OCPI (2.1.1, 2.2.1). Strong understanding of software development and agile practices, with experience leading sprints. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience in writing detailed product requirements and acceptance criteria. Strong problem-solving skills and data-driven decision-making. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Desired Skills: Experience with CPMS, EVSE vendors, telematics, or remote device management. Knowledge of embedded systems, IoT, or M2M communication. Familiarity with software/firmware updates, certifications, and interoperability testing. Experience with monitoring tools and telemetry data. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
