Camp Fire North Shore is a non-profit organization located in Salem and Lynn, MA, offering after school care, summer day camp, teen and club programs, and self-reliance workshops to youth on the North Shore. We are responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing all aspects of our after school program in Lynn Public Schools, a Charter School, and Salem at our Program Facility. This includes curriculum development, staff management, registration, and ensuring a safe, enriching environment for participants. The programs target school youth from pre-k through grade 8. The director will work closely with school administrators, parents, and community partners to support students' academic and social development. This is a year-round position; hours during the school year are 10:00 am – 6:00 pm, with some evening meetings and training. Summer hours are flexible, aligned with summer programming. Job Responsibilities include: Supervising Site Coordinators and team of group Leaders Managing staff recruitment, hiring, training, and evaluations Conducting background checks for staff Managing staff schedules and payroll Maintaining staff files per licensing standards Overseeing registration processes Leading staff meetings, supervisions, and trainings Managing licensing and compliance (EEC, DPH, fire, building, health permits) Updating policies, procedures, Parent Handbooks, and Health Care Plans Preparing staff manuals and policies Collaborating on facilities maintenance and repairs Developing and implementing activities and curriculum, including Thrive{ology}, project-based learning, STEM, and social-emotional learning Assessing and evaluating youth outcomes Driving program quality and adapting based on evaluations Managing attendance tracking and billing information Promoting programs and special events like Absolutely Incredible Kid Day Managing food service orders and supplies Participating in staff meetings and community outreach Ensuring facilities are safe and well-maintained Overseeing equipment and supplies Staying current with best practices in youth development and education policy Responding to data patterns and unmet needs with referrals or new programming Collaborating on budget management Reporting to the COO As the primary contact, the director will communicate with families, handle inquiries, and foster community partnerships to serve the whole child.
