Position Overview As Digital Marketing Specialist, youll support the strategy and execution of bothinternal and client-facing digital programs. Youll manage content calendars, publishposts, build emails, assist with short-form video and PR content, and help optimizecampaigns over time. Youll work closely with our senior strategist, project team, and creative partners tobring visibility to the community-focused work our clients are doing and help ensureour internal efforts reflect the same standards. This role is ideal for a generalist with strong content instincts, attention to detail, and aheart for mission driven work. Youll have ownership, support, and the opportunity togrow into leadership as we scale. Core Responsibilities Social Media & Community Engagement Draft and schedule content for Instagram, LinkedIn, X,and Facebook Create and adapt visual content using tools like Canvafrom simple tasks like resharing business flyers or event promos, to more involved efforts such as designing original graphics that align with district wide campaigns or seasonal initiatives. Post Reels and assist with light short-form video editing Support community management and comment moderation Flag and forward DMs or private messages to senior team members so the right person on the client side can respond if needed. Email Campaigns Build and send monthly newsletters in Mailchimp, Constant Contact, or similar platforms Manage formatting, links, and branding consistency Assist with setting up basic email automations (e.g. new member or new business drips) Website + Content Updates Upload blog posts, event info, and stories to WordPress or other CMS Format and QA content for accessibility and mobile readability Support light updates for campaign landing pages or microsites Campaign Execution & Coordination Help organize and run digital campaigns around events, membership drives, or seasonal priorities Support ad setup and monitoring (Meta, Google Ads) Pull performance reports and maintain internal dashboards Light Video Support Edit simple reels or short video clips from client-provided footage Add captions, music, or transitions for social media Occasionally storyboard or organize video assets for external editors PR & Storytelling Support Assist with drafting press releases or media alerts using approved templates Track media mentions and organize earned coverage assets Help build media kits and talking points when needed Analytics & Reporting Pull monthly stats from social and email platforms Prepare summary reports or visuals for internal and client use Assist strategist in identifying wins, gaps, or optimizations What Were Looking For Required: 12 years of experience in digital marketing, communications, or content creation Strong writing and editing skills clear, concise, and audience-aware Experience with at least 4 of the following tools/platforms: Mailchimp, Canva, Meta Business Suite, LinkedIn, WordPress, Google Analytics, Asana, Buffer/Later Attention to detail, organization, and responsiveness A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset A heart for community-centered work and public good Occasional travel may be required in alignment with client needs and project demands Nice to Have: Experience working with BIDs, Chambers, cities, or nonprofits Knowledge of SEO, accessibility, or analytics reporting Graphic design or short-form video editing (CapCut, Canva Video, etc.) Experience with PR writing or local media outreach Spanish fluency or multilingual content experience What Youll Get A team that values trust, autonomy, and collaboration Purpose-driven work that supports mission-aligned clients Clear processes and real leadership support Paid holidays, PTO, tech stipend, and professional development Competitive salary with performance-based bonuses Comprehensive health and wellness package Opportunity to grow into a senior role over time Why This Role Matters This role isnt about checking boxes.
