Position Information
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in journalism, writing, marketing or communications or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. A minimum of two (2) years of experience in non-profit or higher education online communications; writing, editing and project management skills; and current (and consistently maintained) technical training. Special skills required include information technology savvy with an emphasis on social and interactive media. Excellent organizational and analytical skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with others.
Desired Qualifications
Masters degree.

Unless otherwise required by an applicable collective bargaining agreement, all minimum, additional and desired qualifications are preferred, but qualifications, degrees, and/or experience deemed comparable and/or equivalent by Oakland University in its sole and exclusive discretion may be considered.
Position Details
Position Purpose
Under the general supervision of the Associate Director of Enrollment Marketing, the Social Media Coordinator will help execute a social media strategy that helps promote OU as the university of choice, strengthen the universitys social media presence, and increase engagement with the university community. This includes creating visual content for the web and social media, including photographs and video, managing the universitys social media calendar, mentoring social media intern(s) and measuring the performance of social media content and campaigns. The social media coordinator is a highly motivated individual with experience and a passion for brand management. The coordinator will manage posts and social media advertising campaigns, listen to and engage with existing social media conversations, and produce robust metrics reports that demonstrate reach and relevance.
