About The Role We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join our Enterprise Platform team within Investment Technology. This role will drive the development, governance, and adoption of AI tools across Wellington, focusing on OpenAI-based solutions and Microsoft Copilot, with an emphasis on security, compliance, and responsible AI use. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with OpenAI APIs, Microsoft Copilot, Amazon Bedrock, and serve as a bridge between engineering, information security, and business stakeholders, especially within the investor community. Responsibilities AI Tool Strategy & Governance: Define and maintain standards for AI tool usage; collaborate with AI Policy and Risk team. Rollout & Adoption: Lead firmwide deployment of ChatGPT and Copilot, including training and support; partner with investor teams. Development & Integration: Build and maintain custom AI agents using Azure OpenAI, Copilot Studio, and AWS AI services; support Office 365 Copilot rollout. Security & Risk Management: Stay current on AI-related risks; work with InfoSec and Legal for compliance. Innovation & Thought Leadership: Monitor emerging AI capabilities; contribute to internal knowledge sharing and forums. Qualifications Understanding of information security principles and AI governance. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. 5+ years in software development, with 2+ years in AI/ML or NLP. Proficiency with OpenAI APIs, Azure OpenAI, and Copilot Studio. Familiarity with AWS AI/ML services; experience with Harmonic AI or Prompt AI is a plus. Ability to work in Boston or Needham – 4 days onsite. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, engineering, math, or related field, or equivalent experience. Benefits Our compensation approach includes salary, variable pay, and benefits. The salary range for this position is USD 80,000 - 180,000, with details shared during recruitment. Other rewards may include bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package, including retirement plans, health coverage, paid time off, and more. Our work environment supports in-office and remote work, with employees working 4 days a week in the office.
