Major, Lindsey & Africa’s Interim Legal Talent group has an immediate need for an Interim Litigation Attorney.

Overview : MLA is seeking a seasoned Litigation Counsel with deep experience in handling a wide range of complex commercial disputes including all manner of breach of contract disputes and disputes arising from failed or distressed Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and transactional financing. This role is ideal for a litigator who thrives in high-stakes environments and can navigate the intersection of corporate deal-making and litigation strategy. It is critical that the winning candidate demonstrates a fierce client-focused mindset and be able to work in a highly innovative and fast-paced environment.

6+ years of experience litigating a variety of commercial disputes

Location:

REMOTE

Responsibilities Include: Lead litigation and arbitration matters involving business tort claims, contract disputes, broken M&A transactions, including post-closing disputes, earn-out disagreements, fraud claims, and breach of representations and warranties Manage disputes related to acquisition financing, including lender liability, covenant breaches, and intercreditor conflicts Draft and review various litigation-related documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery responses, discovery correspondence, and settlement agreements Represent clients in depositions, court proceedings, mediations, and arbitrations Collaborate with corporate, finance, and regulatory teams to ensure alignment on litigation exposure and risk mitigation

Qualifications Include:

J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction 6+ years of litigation experience at a law firm, with a strong focus on broad-based commercial disputes and M&A and financing disputes Experience with cross-border transactions and international arbitration is a plus. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management abilities Substantial experience taking and defending depositions (first chair) Experience preparing for and arguing at hearings and trial experience Experience leading expert discovery, including working with experts to prepare expert reports Familiarity with private equity, venture capital, or distressed asset transactions Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-stakes matters simultaneously Exceptional legal writing, oral advocacy, and negotiation skills Strong business acumen and ability to translate legal risk into strategic advice Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Pay Rate: $100
