The BIM Modeler will be a member of the Linxon GETS-Chennai Engineering Team and will contribute to the effective operation of the business unit. The BIM Modeler – OPC will work on project/tender-specific activities assigned to the OPC group, supporting a wide range of international T&D substation projects of medium engineering complexity. This role involves executing design work using established solutions, applying theoretical knowledge and experience across multiple engineering projects, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.
What will you do?
Work independently on AutoCAD/MicroStation for 2D & 3D design and detailed engineering of substation projects.
Utilize BIM/Revit platforms for 2D & 3D design and detailed engineering, with knowledge of PAS 1192 standards considered an advantage.
Develop tender engineering drawings efficiently without compromising quality.
Ensure the completeness of assigned packages and proper functioning of the substation systems.
Confirm that engineering is comprehensive, all inter-discipline checks are completed, and documentation is properly stored.
Resolve CAD issues during engineering development.
Record and report all engineering changes, collaborating with the team to assess project impacts.
Maintain compliance with Linxon and client engineering standards, quality standards, and organizational QMS.
Create work plans and cost estimates within own responsibility.
Contribute to the design issue log and participate in CAD and BIM reviews.
Follow safety procedures and guidelines.
Provide input for project close-out reports and lessons learned.
Experience, Education, and Other Requirements:
Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Power Engineering or related field.
Over 6 years of CAD/BIM design experience.
Proven project engineering experience using Revit platform.
Site experience is beneficial.
Good knowledge of AIS & GIS substation design.
Hands-on experience preparing substation deliverables like equipment layouts, earthing, cable trays, lighting, lightning protection, and cable trenches.
Proficiency with Revit tools.
High attention to detail and quality standards.
