Job Title:
Corporate Associate (PE/M&A) Location : Manhattan, NY Hawkstone Search is proud to partner with a prestigious AM-100 firm to recruit a talented Corporate Associatewith 3+ years of private equity and M&A transactional experience for their dynamic New York office. The firm’s corporate practice combines deep legal expertise with practical business insight to guide clients through complex transactions. The team advises a diverse range of clients, including global commingled funds, independent sponsors, and family offices, across the private equity lifecycle - from fundraising and fund formation to acquisitions, portfolio management, and exits. They provide strategic counsel to public and private enterprises navigating commercial, financial, and industrial challenges. The firm is seeking a driven associate to join its robust Corporate M&A Practice in New York. This is an exciting opportunity to work on sophisticated transactions, collaborate with a national team, and grow within a partnership-track role. What you’ll be doing: Handle a broad range of private equity and M&A transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, joint ventures, and fund-related matters Provide efficient, high-quality legal services both independently and collaboratively Draft and negotiate deal documents, manage due diligence, and coordinate closings for acquisitions, mergers, and private equity transactions Provide strategic legal advice to clients, communicate transaction updates, and address risks in real-time to support client goals What they need: JD or LLM from an ABA-accredited law school, admitted in NY, prior Big Law experience is essential 3+ years of experience in M&A and private equity transactions, ideally involving private equity funds and financial institutions Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
