Employment & Labor Associate Attorney - Los Angeles, San Diego, or San Francisco / Oakland
Responsibilities and Practice
Our client is seeking an associate with excellent academic credentials and 2-5 years of employment law practice experience to work in one of our California offices. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of employment law, experience handling employment litigation matters, and providing employment advice and counsel. The hired candidate will work with partners and directly with clients and will be a key team member. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Providing day-to-day employment and human-resources counseling for clients
Reviewing, analyzing, and drafting employment agreements, employee handbooks, policies, severance agreements, and other employment documents
Handling employment litigation, including single-plaintiff, executive compensation, wage-hour class actions, PAGA actions, and administrative charges
Taking and defending depositions in employment litigation and managing written discovery phases
Guiding clients on sensitive personnel issues and policy review and implementation
Advising on traditional labor and NLRB matters
Supporting employment aspects of mergers and acquisitions, including reviewing employment provisions of purchase agreements
Formulating legal strategies for litigation matters
Assisting with other matters as needed
Our Employment & Labor lawyers are known for their creative, business-savvy counseling skills and results-driven practice. They represent local and multinational businesses on workforce-related issues.
Pursuant to California law, the salary range for this position is $225,000 to $345,000, based on experience and office location. Titles may include Associate, Managing Associate, or Senior Managing Associate.
