About The Team
Fitch Ratings is seeking a Director to join the Asset-Backed Securities (ABS) team in our New York office. This senior-level role requires a highly experienced credit professional with a proven track record in structured finance and ABS. As a Director, you will lead complex ratings assignments, drive thought leadership through market commentary and research, and play a key role in business development and client engagement.
How You’ll Make An Impact
Provide strategic leadership to the ABS team, overseeing the analysis and rating of complex ABS transactions, with a focus on auto loan, auto lease, and equipment leasing sectors. Serve as a lead spokesperson for Fitch Ratings, presenting credit opinions and research to market participants, clients, and the media. Guide the development and enhancement of ratings criteria, methodologies, and analytical tools. Author high-impact research reports on sector trends, regulatory developments, and emerging risks. Build and maintain strong relationships with issuers, investors, and other stakeholders in the structured finance market. Mentor and develop junior analysts, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning. Represent Fitch in industry forums, conferences, and client meetings, enhancing the firm’s profile and influence in the ABS sector.
You May Be a Good Fit If
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or relevant professional qualifications preferred. Minimum of 7 years of experience in structured finance, with direct expertise in ABS analysis; rating agency experience strongly preferred. Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing complex projects or teams. Exceptional communication and presentation abilities, with a track record of engaging effectively with clients and market participants. Strong quantitative, analytical, and technical skills, including expertise in cash flow modeling and loss forecasting. Deep understanding of credit fundamentals, regulatory frameworks, and market dynamics in the ABS sector. Proven ability to generate thought leadership and influence industry best practices.

FOR NEW YORK: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $140,000 and $180,000 per year. Base pay is one part of Fitch’s total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
