Position Summary The Director of Business Development at UCLA Extension (UNEX) is a strategic leader responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding corporate education partnerships, and enhancing institutional engagement in alignment with UCLA Extension's mission as a premier provider of continuing and professional education. Reporting directly to the Dean, the Director will lead the development and execution of business strategies, advise senior leadership on market trends, and cultivate high-impact partnerships across industries and sectors. This role collaborates extensively with academic and administrative units to deliver innovative, customized education solutions that meet evolving market needs. Success in this position is measured by revenue generation, strategic partnership development, stakeholder engagement, and measurable growth in enrollment and client satisfaction, supported by data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement. Salary & Compensation *UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications 7 years Minimum years of progressive experience in business development, strategic partnerships, sales management, or related roles, preferably within a higher education or professional development context. (Required) In-depth knowledge of business development concepts, best practices, and functions. (Required) Proven track record of achieving or exceeding revenue and growth targets. (Required) Demonstrated experience negotiating contracts and managing client relationships. (Required) Demonstrated leadership skills to motivate and influence others. (Required) Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to develop comprehensive reports. (Required) Advanced written and verbal communication skills, including ability to positively interact with executives, providers, and staff at all levels. (Required) Advanced analytical and critical thinking skills with experience using data-driven decision-making processes – skills needed to assess complex issues and develop solutions. (Required) Advanced planning, project management, change management, and process improvement skills. (Required) Advanced proficiency in standardized business software and database applications (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace). (Required) Ability to achieve measurable results in a diverse stakeholder landscape, balancing competing and conflicting interests. (Required) Experience working within large, complex organizations; familiarity with higher education settings.
