Qualifications & Responsibilities

4+ years' experience with environmental and/or natural resources law

Environmental

Assist industrial and commercial businesses and public entities with compliance and corrective measures relating to CERCLA (Superfund), RCRA (solid and hazardous waste), clean air and water, underground storage tanks, mining, and other environmental matters. In particular, the environmental practice emphasizes environmental permitting, enforcement, compliance, remediation, and corrective action matters. The practice also complements and supports the corporate acquisitions and mergers practice with involvement in the due diligence, negotiations, and structuring aspects of transactions relating to industrial, commercial, and natural resources enterprises.

Natural resources

Provide comprehensive legal services to domestic and international clients regarding public land issues, acquisition of mineral and related land use rights, alternative energy projects, permitting, project development, financing and security agreements, venture relationships, contracting, mergers and acquisitions, governmental relations, environmental matters, water rights, and other areas of natural resource use and development. Past and present clients include mineral companies, energy companies, real estate developers, municipalities, irrigation companies, industrial operators, and utility companies, including some of the world's largest gold mining companies and the owners of electrical generation facilities, petroleum refineries, and integrated steel mills.
