Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Key job responsibilities
Key responsibilities Creating systems and services for ingesting, processing, and visualizing vast amounts of satellite telemetry data Building real-time monitoring systems to identify anomalies, detect emerging trends, and proactively alert stakeholders to critical situations that require intervention Ensuring extremely high reliability, uptime, and performance across systems that receive and manage telemetry streams from thousands of endpoint Develop software systems that meet the mission criteria and requirements. Collaborate with your fellow team members to form a strong foundation for a software organization in Project Kuiper. Help on-board new team members. Utilize AWS and other Amazon technologies to build high-available software services.
Export Control Requirement
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Basic Qualifications
3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
