Lead Sterile Processing Technician - Sterile Processing Main- M-Fr

Performs and participates in the decontamination, cleaning, assembling, packaging, scanning, sterilization, storage, and distribution of reusable surgical instrumentation and equipment.

Prepares and assembles surgical trays and equipment following established tray listings for issue storage or further processing (such as sterilization).

Monitors reads documents and interprets all parameters for all types of sterilizers to ensure proper function (ETO Steam Steris and Sterrad).

Cleans and decontaminates reusable equipment instruments and supplies manually and mechanically (Hand Washing Washer/Sterilizer Ultrasonic Cleaner Scope Washer Cart Washer).

Participates in the coordination of all aspects of department's services.

Serves as the resource for information for employees and customers.

Models team behaviors to frontline employees.

Manages departmental bar code system (SPM ORMIS).

Serves as preceptor in all areas of CSS (decontam, distribution, assembly and sterilizers)

Must maintain a minimum of two advanced or specialty operations

In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Position Compensation Range: $20.28 - $31.43 Hourly
nMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
nEducation: High School Graduate or Equivalent.
nExperience: 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
nLicensure:
nThis position requires:
nCertification as CRCST (Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician) through HSPA
nOR
nCSPDT (Central Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) through CBSPD
nAND
n(1) additional following certification: CIS (Certified Instrument Specialist), CER (Certified Endoscope Reprocess), or CHL (Certified Healthcare Leader)
nWithin 6 months of hire into this role
nPHYSICAL DEMANDS
nJob requires sitting/standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping/traveling and reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive).
nProficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 25-50lbs. Working in environment with fumes, chemicals, vibrations, heat, noise, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
