Medical Assistant Coordinator- Family Medicine

Provides administrative support to division and clinical support for the Maryland Primary Care Program (MDPCP) and other Value Based Performance Programs. Assists providers in the prevention, management of chronic disease, and preventing unnecessary hospital utilization by, including but not limited to, conducting SDOH patient screenings, scheduling post ED/Inpatient discharge follow-up appointments, and depression screenings. PCMH reporting. EPIC addendums for CareFirst reporting; and other duties assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
- Medical Assistant certification required
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program
- Two to three years related medical office experience.
- Ability to perform all medical assisting responsibilities under state and faculty guidelines
- General understanding and application of basic accounting principles
- PC proficiency
- Strong customer service skills
- Accurate data entry skills
- Current knowledge of payer requirements for referrals and pre-authorization
- Knowledge of GE, EPIC or similar computerized billing system
- Medical terminology preferred
- CPR certification is required

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland's Faculty Physician's Inc. salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographical location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/ training and other qualifications.
