University of Maryland Faculty Physicians University of Maryland Pathology Associates seeks a full-time Pathologist to serve as Laboratory Medical Director at University of Maryland Shore Health Network (UMSRH), centered in Easton, Maryland. This position is fully clinical in nature, with no teaching or research requirement, although such interests can be accommodated. In addition to administrative roles, the Pathologist will perform general anatomic and clinical pathology responsibilities, primarily general surgical pathology sign-out and frozen sections, with support from the entire academic faculty. Telepathology and teleconferencing technology will allow for full clinical integration into the School of Medicine’s Pathology faculty. The successful candidate will have the interpersonal skills to work with local providers and hospital leadership to provide a high-quality patient care experience. As part of the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS), our UMSRH providers bring world-class care to local communities in Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne’s, and Talbot counties.
Pathologists hired by the faculty practice under the University of Maryland Medical Associates pathway will receive a compensation package that is competitive with area private practitioners. Incentives are tied to clinical productivity, and providers are eligible for a generous benefits package that includes Health, Dental, Vision Insurances, paid leave and 403(b), ensuring that you are rewarded for your hard work and dedication to patient care.
A minimum of 2-3 years of pathology practice is required. Board certification or Board eligibility in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology is required.

University of Maryland Pathology Associates is the clinical practice of the Department of Pathology of the University of Maryland School of Medicine, notable for being the first public and fifth oldest medical school in the United States. The Department provides professional services for several hospitals across the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS), a private, university-based regional health system focused on serving the health care needs of Maryland. The health system's UMMS' flagship academic campus, the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, is recognized regionally and nationally for excellence in specialized care. UMMS offers primary and specialty care at 11 hospitals, in more than 150 locations, and through a network of UM Urgent Care locations. The multi-hospital system consists of 13 outstanding hospitals and numerous ambulatory centers which serve 13 counties across the state serve urban, suburban, and rural communities. The collaboration among our facilities allows us to provide patients in our community hospitals with a level of highly specialized care normally reserved for much larger facilities.

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland’s Faculty Physician’s Inc. salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/training and other qualifications.
