nPosition Purpose:
nThe Endoscopy Technician is responsible for assisting the physicians during Endoscopy procedures. Additional responsibilities include cleaning and disinfection of endoscopes and equipment, room set up, turnover, and supply maintenance. ?
nWhat you will Do:

Assists the physician and RN with specific diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy procedures such as obtaining and labeling of specimens and assisting in procedures including ERCP.

Demonstrates technical competency in the cleaning and disinfection process of endoscopes and accessory equipment.

Assists the RN in the implementation of the established plan of care (positioning of patients and transporting patients). Responds to emergency situations as directed by the RN.

Assists in cleaning and setting up endoscopy procedure rooms for the day, between cases and after the last case of the day.

Responsible for and assists with departmental paperwork. Documents accurately and in a timely manner. Maintains confidentiality of data, patient and staff.

nPart time: Days with a weekend and Holiday call rotation.

. High School graduate or GED.

Successful completion of formal Nurse Aid course/training verified through transcript or original program certificate of completion, required.

OR
nCurrently enrolled in an A.D.N., B.S.N., program with successful completion of first semester of A.D.N. program, OR first year completion of nursing courses in BSN OR graduate of an A.D.N., Diploma, BSN or LPN program.
