Job Purpose
The Network Engineer IV is responsible for the discovery, design, implementation, and transition of network infrastructure as part of new build or upgrade projects. This role works closely with project managers to provide regular updates on project timelines, milestones, and deliverables, ensuring smooth execution and effective communication.
Essential Functions
Perform comprehensive network discovery activities to assess existing infrastructure (

) Implement network solutions and manage a seamless handoff to operational support teams (

) Create and update detailed documentation for all implemented network solutions (
30%
) Participate in ITIL-related activities, including change, incident, and problem management, as well as configuration management (CMDB) Collaborate with project managers on task assignments, status updates, and project deliverables (

) Education & Experience
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience Experience:
8-10 years of hands-on experience in the design, implementation, troubleshooting, and support of routers, switches, and firewalls in large or enterprise network environments Certifications
Required:
CCNP, CCDP Preferred:
CISSP, CCIE Written or CCIE Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong experience with Cisco switching: 6500, 4500, 3750/3560 series Nexus 7k / 5k / 2k experience highly preferred Proficiency with Cisco routing platforms: ASR, 7200, ISR G2 Familiarity with network IPS/IDS, Cisco ASA Firewalls, F5 LTM, and Cisco WAAS (plus) Expert knowledge of TCP/IP v4, VLANs, PVLANs, Layer 3 switching, ACLs, and Spanning Tree (MST/PVST) Expertise in Cisco CatOS, IOS, NX-OS, Nexus vPC, VDC, FabricPath, and FEX technologies Strong understanding of WAN and DMZ architectures Proficiency in enterprise routing protocols: EIGRP, BGP, OSPF High-level troubleshooting skills in switching and routing Experience using network analysis, performance monitoring, and bandwidth management tools Expert knowledge of OCx, Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet / 10Gb Ethernet Familiarity with cabling standards (Cat5e, Cat6, MM/SM/OM3 fiber) and transceivers (SFPs, GBICs, etc.) Experience with implementation planning, test plan development, and Cisco design frameworks Understanding of ITIL methodologies and enterprise change control processes Strong initiative, adaptability, and eagerness to learn Bonus:
Scripting and automation experience to improve task efficiency Supervisory Responsibilities
No direct supervisory responsibilities May lead project-based teams by assigning, coordinating, and reviewing work from team members performing similar tasks Work Environment

The pay range for this role is:
