Position Summary
We are seeking a Post-Closing Integration Director with a strong background in Human Resources to lead the successful integration of HR operations, programs, and culture following mergers, acquisitions, or divestitures. This role plays a critical part in ensuring a seamless transition for employees, aligning acquired HR functions with corporate policies, and maintaining compliance throughout the process. The ideal candidate has deep HR expertise, cross-functional project management skills, and experience navigating complex organizational change.
Key Responsibilities
Lead HR Integration Strategy: Design and implement HR integration plans post-deal close, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timelines. Project Management: Oversee the end-to-end HR integration process, managing workstreams across benefits, payroll, talent management, HRIS, and compliance. Change Management: Develop and execute change and communication strategies to support employee engagement and cultural integration. Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with HR, Legal, Finance, IT, and business leaders to ensure smooth onboarding of acquired teams and systems. Due Diligence Support: Collaborate with M&A teams during late-stage diligence to assess HR risks, develop integration hypotheses, and shape early integration planning. Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure adherence to employment laws, benefit regulations, and internal HR policies throughout integration. Culture & Talent Alignment: Support the assimilation of acquired employees into company culture and talent development frameworks. Tracking & Reporting: Establish KPIs and reporting mechanisms to monitor integration progress and identify areas for improvement. Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master's or MBA preferred) 7+ years of experience in HR, with at least 3 years focused on M&A or post-close integration Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and manage complex change initiatives Deep understanding of HR processes, systems (e.g., Workday, SAP), and employment law Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills Ability to travel as needed (10-25%) Preferred Qualifications
Experience in both domestic and international HR integrations Professional certifications (e.g., SPHR, SHRM-SCP, PMP) Background in consulting or fast-paced, acquisitive environments
