This role is essential in promoting the effective use of technology by students, staff, and administrators across the district.The Technology Support Analyst is responsible for software installations, hardware configurations, and network connectivity support. Working closely with building media specialists and other staff members, the technical analyst will ensure the smooth operation of all technology resources across multiple CPS locations. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator with excellent troubleshooting skills, a customer-focused attitude, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIESDuties include, but are not limited to the following: Deliver prompt, effective technical support for instructional and administrative computing devices, including desktops, laptops, and iPads, ensuring minimal disruption to learning and operational activities. Provide comprehensive onsite technical assistance for all district-supported devices, serving as a visible and initiative-taking resource for staff, faculty, and students across assigned buildings. Serve as the primary point of contact for escalated technical issues, offering expert guidance and direct troubleshooting to resolve complex hardware, software, and system concerns efficiently. Accurately document all technical service interactions by entering, updating, and closing work orders within the district's work order management system, ensuring detailed records of issue resolution processes and response timelines. Configure newly acquired devices in alignment with Columbia Public Schools' technology standards and policies, ensuring consistency, security, and optimal performance across the district's technology ecosystem. Image and deploy devices using approved district tools and best practices, supporting scalable and efficient device rollouts across instructional and administrative systems. Install and maintain district-approved software applications and system packages, ensuring compatibility, security compliance, and user readiness. Diagnose and resolve technical issues involving a wide range of peripherals, including but not limited to interactive flat panels, monitors, phones, printers, time clocks, intercom systems, and bell systems. Perform initial device diagnostics to verify equipment failures, coordinate follow-up repairs through work order submission, and collaborate closely with the Mobile Device Repair Technician to ensure timely response. Proactively maintain and audit building-level technology inventory; track usages, identify shortages, and initiate supply orders to support instructional and operational readiness. Assist with accurate record keeping of all assigned technology assets, contributing to efficiency in inventory control, district-wide asset management strategies, and stewardship. Troubleshoot and resolve basic to intermediate network connectivity issues, identify root causes, and escalate more complex problems to the appropriate network support team. Participate in the relocation and installation of technology hardware, including support for district-wide hardware refresh initiatives and new equipment rollouts. Support training efforts by sharing knowledge and best practices on basic device maintenance and troubleshooting techniques with end users and site-based staff. Coordinate surplus technology collection and reporting efforts in collaboration with the Inventory Control Specialist, ensuring compliance with district surplus procedures and asset disposition protocols. Work from ladders and access areas above ceilings when required for installation or maintenance. Perform technical tasks that require working from ladders and accessing equipment or cabling above ceilings, adhering to all district safety guidelines and protocols. Collaborate actively as a team member of the Technology Services Operations Division Team. Comply with all CPS Board of Education policies and operational procedures.
