This position is field based and funded through a Community Development Block Grant - Disaster Resiliency (CDBG - DR). This position is designated to the Disaster & Recovery Section within the Office of State Fire Marshal's Engineering Division, Field Services group. A successful candidate is required to perform the duties of an Applications Systems Analyst II in multiple locations throughout the State and primarily east of I95.

General working hours are 10 hours, Monday - Thursday with occasional Fridays and weekends as required to meet objectives and requirements of the position.

Due to the overloading of local code jurisdictions, the North Carolina Office of State Fire Marshal (NCOSFM) has mutually agreed to assist with inspections related to projects funded through the North Carolina Office of Resiliency and Reconstruction (NCORR). Additionally, the NCOSFM is utilizing such inspections to train apprentice inspectors with probationary certifications in a specific discipline.

The primary purpose of the position is to design and implement digital application systems for the Disaster & Recovery Section of Engineering Field Operations within NCOSFM. The position will work with Senior Inspectors to develop and maintain the Moodle Learning Management System for training construction inspectors including the server that hosts Moodle. The position will work with Senior Inspectors to design and implement ImageTrend Software for field inspections remote data entry and creation of inspection reports. The position will provide the Division Chief with recommendations for equipment and software, including acquisitions of such approved items.
