Description of Work This position is located at Central Prison Health Complex (CPHC), Raleigh, NC, Wake County. CPHC is a closed-custody prison housing Male offenders. Central Prison serves as the hub for healthcare for the male inmate population. The facility is designed to house a maximum capacity of 1318 offenders.

The primary purpose of CPHC is to provide inpatient treatment for patients using evidence-based medical practices, therapy programs, surgical Services, post-operative care, etc., that will enable the inmate patients to be returned to their parent facility as quickly as possible.

Position is the highest level of nursing supervision and the health authority responsible for the daily management/operation of the facility's nursing operation. The Nurse Supervisor is responsible for ensuring professional nursing care and treatment are afforded to patients within medical policies, protocols, and consistent with Board of Nursing requirements. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Direct supervision of all nursing staff to include staff schedules, assignments, orientation, performance improvement evaluations, and clinical competency evaluations. The Nurse Supervisor supervises, and conducts needs assessments, develops, implements, and evaluates treatment plans, and provides patient care and education to offenders. Position will ensure all policies and procedures are followed and submit short and long-term goals to Leadership for review and approval. Position will perform administrative duties such as planning, organizing, and managing daily operations, quality assurance, Human Resource management functions, and staff development. The Nurse Supervisor will be required to develop and maintain effective communication and work relationships with Physicians, upper management healthcare personnel, patients, families, agencies, and others. The Nurse Supervisor must have the ability to identify and address quality monitoring and performance improvement issues for the facility.
